TIES

Centering Indigenous Queer, Trans & Two-Spirit Writers

TIES is a series of open mics and readings that celebrates Indigenous queer, trans, and Two Spirit writers.

TIES was founded in 2019 by River Kerstetter (Wisconsin Oneida) and Patrick Del Percio (Cherokee/Italian/Irish descent).

Upcoming Events:

On February 23rd, join TIES for a special reading and conversation with Kai Minosh Pyle! Kai was one of the first TIES readers, and they are returning to share their new work. Kai is a 2spirit Métis and Baawiting Anishinaabe writer originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Currently living in the once and future prairielands known as Champaign, Illinois, they yearn for the day they can dip their toes in the Great Lakes once again.

Kai’s poetry and creative writing has been published by Cloudthroat, Arsenal Pulp Press, smokeandmould, Little Gull Press, and many others. You can find their chapbook AANAWI GO and other works at mekadebinesikwe.com @greatlakesqueer

Tune in on February 23 from 6–7 pm central. After the reading, TIES facilitators River Kerstetter (Oneida) and Patrick Del Percio (Irish/Italian/Cherokee descent) will lead a conversation with Kai and take questions from the audience.
